About The Author
Lou Bilkovski is a police officer with over 24 years service with the Ontario Provincial Police. He has always taken personal pride in maintaining a high level of physical fitness.
Lou has been certified as a personal trainer since 1990 and has a Diploma in both Fitness and Nutrition. He operates his own personal training business and has trained a variety of persons from elite professional athletes to middle aged persons wishing to lose weight.
Since January 1999, he has headed the Anti-Doping Unit of Neutron Sports a company that promotes Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness competitions.
In 2001 Lou was named one of Forty in Canada to be trained as a certified Doping Control Officer with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) and is certified to conduct testing on National, International and Olympic athletes.
Lou also performs public speaking on behalf of the CCES to schools and colleges in relation to the work that the CCES does, the doping control process and the benefits of being true to yourself and true to your sport by being drug free.
Lou has also been coaching high school football from 1990 to 2007 at Bayridge Secondary School in Kingston, Ontario. He was the head football coach and also served as the teams offensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coach. In January 2008 Lou decided to take on a new challenge of starting a new football team at Ernestown Secondary School which has never had a football team in its history. In September 2008 a first ever senior football team was fielded at Ernestown with Lou as its head coach.
Lou has his level 2 coaching certification in football and level 1 in track and field.
In August 2003, Lou was awarded the position of Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Kingston Grenadiers under 17 football team which is the city's representative team in the Ontario Varsity Football League.
In January 2005 Lou became the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Queen's University Golden Gaels football team.
In the spring of 1992, Lou founded the Kingston Township O.P.P. Minor Football League for youth aged 11 to 13 which continues on to this day.
